When the excrement hits the ventilator, things aren’t going to go well for most Americans. Some of us, however, can see the truth behind the writing on the bathroom stall and are getting prepared. Even if it doesn’t go completely in the crapper, a self-sufficient garden is an inflation-proof way to keep yourself well fed no matter the economy.

If you’re someone that wants to know how to feed your family when the food storage runs out and the grocery shelves are empty, then this is the site for you.

In the public area of SHTFGarden.com, you’ll find useful information and sneak peaks into what members get to see every day. Even more great stuff appears in the Member’s Area exclusively for our members. These member’s exclusives contain valuable information for gardening when there is no garden store or big box outlet to get seeds, soil, fertilizers, etc.  Best of all, membership is FREE!

SHTF Garden has information for the least to the most informed gardeners out there. We don’t talk politics, we don’t bother with currency exchanges and economics. We just talk about all things food for now and after the manure has flown.

For the survivalist, the prepper, or the gardener looking to grow without spending money on “extras,” SHTF Garden is where it’s at.

How SHTF Garden Works

This website is basically the home of a book in the making, which will be titled The SHTF Garden.  Having written several books before on various subjects, I can tell you this from experience: writing a book takes an inordinate amount of time and often has little financial payoff for the author.  When your time is limited and your daily work already involves writing.. well, that side project often becomes a back burner project instead.

Unless you really believe in it, then you either forge ahead or your come up with creative ways to overcome these obstacles.  SHTFGarden.com is my way of creatively overcoming the obstacle of having shaky financial incentives (not to mention the need to make a daily income) when writing this book.  I have thought about and worked on the idea of The SHTF Garden for quite a while, but up to now, had done nothing more than outline it and collect a lot of research.  Now I’m ready to start seriously writing it.

That’s where you come in. You can either wait a couple of years and buy a $50 book that is a couple of hundred pages long, but covers everything there is to know about gardening when the brown has fallen into the air mover or you read it now, on installments, and get it as its written and merely put up with a few ads (that you’ll hopefully click on when they interest you).

So if you’re willing to journey with me on this and prove that a new paradigm of publishing, thanks to the Internet, can replace the old system that seldom rewards authors with anything but non-financial satisfaction at finishing a book, then join SHTF Garden and come with me on a journey of discovery. Read the introduction to the book by clicking here.

Who’s Behind SHTF Garden?

SHTFGarden.com is owned and operated by Aaron Turpen, a writer, prepper, and natural health nut who lives in Wyoming, USA.  Aaron is known for his writing as MasterPrepper at Truth2America.com and HealthFreedomNetwork.com, and for being the editor of the Health Freedom Network Newsletter.  He has also been seen on NaturalNews.com, GreenBigTruck.com, and has been published in a variety of places both online and in print.

Aaron has penned several ebooks on prepping and health, including the recent publication of Survival of the Smartest: the First 72 Hours and the upcoming Holistic Health 101: A Beginner’s Guide to Overall Health and Wellness and the newly edited and expanded To the Last Drop: 10 Ways to Miser Fuel Savings Out of Your Car.

From childhood, Aaron learned to plant, garden, harvest, can / bottle, dehydrate, and otherwise grow and store vegetables and fruits.  He also learned to care for cows, chickens, pigs, and a variety of other livestock.

Today, Aaron still enjoys many of these activities and has expanded his understanding of many of them through research and trail-and-error.  SHTF Garden is a way to share his knowledge with those who want to know the best way to feed themselves in both good times and bad.
